A mughlai dessert made of milk basically a rice pudding dessert recipe which is very similar to rice kheer yet has a subtle difference to it. it is typically prepared during festival seasons especially during the holy month of eid / ramazan as iftar recipes.

Ingredients for Phirni Recipe

  • 75 gram Basmati rice
  • 1 liter Full fat milk
  • 75 gram Sugar
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cardamom powder
  • 4 5 strands Saffron

Directions: Phirni Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.Wash and soak rice for 30mins

step 2

  • STEP 2.Grind the rice into powder

step 3

  • STEP 3.Roast and crush the cardamom into powder

step 4

  • STEP 4.Mix the rice powder with 1 cup milk

step 5

  • STEP 5.Heat the milk in a pan

step 6

  • STEP 6.Add the rice powder milk with the milk

step 7

  • STEP 7.Add saffron

step 8

  • STEP 8.Keep stirring until it thickens

step 9

  • STEP 9.Add sugar and cardamom powder

step 10

  • STEP 10.Set it in the mud bowl

step 11

  • STEP 11.Rest for 24hrs and serve as dessert
