Ingredients for Phirni Recipe

  • 2 tablespoon basmati rice
  • 1 cup water for soaking
  • 1 liter Milk
  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 2 tablespoon saffron milk
  • As required a few dry fruits

Directions: Phirni Recipe

  • STEP 1.Discard the water and blend rice to a coarse paste. Keep aside.
  • STEP 2.Now in a large kadai boil 1 litre milk.
  • STEP 3.Stir occasionally, and simmer for 10 minutes.
  • STEP 4.Keep the flame till milk thickens.
  • STEP 5.Now add in prepared coarse rice paste.
  • STEP 6.Stir continuously for 5 minutes. Else, lumps might form.
  • STEP 7.Simmer for another 5 minutes stirring in between.
  • STEP 8.Boil the milk till the rice gets cooked completely.
  • STEP 9.Further add ¼ cup of sugar and 2 tbsp saffron milk.
  • STEP 10.Mix well till the milk thickens and turn creamy.
  • STEP 11.Add in cardamom powder and mix well.
  • STEP 12.Finally, serve chilled phirni garnished with few chopped nuts.
