Pesara buleru is deep fried sacrament made with a stuffing of chana dal, jaggery and coated with rice and urad dal batter. These sweet stuffed balls are deep-fried and are offered to Goddess Durga and Lakshmi, and later they are served to the family members and guests as ‘prasadam’. This dessert is prepared with rice, chana dal, moong dal, urad dal, jaggery, coconut and green cardamom powder, and all of these items can easily be found in every household’s kitchen cupboard.
