A spicy luscious peanut sauce prepared from roasted peanuts & spice paste,goes well with satay.Peanut sauce, satay sauce, bumbu kacang, sambal kacang, or pecel is an Indonesian sauce made from ground roasted or fried peanuts, widely used in cuisines worldwide.Peanut sauce is used with meat and vegetables, adding flavor to grilled skewered meat, such as satays,poured over vegetables as salad dressing such as in gado-gado, or as a dipping sauce.

Ingredients for Peanut Sauce Recipe

  • 1 cup Peanuts
  • 1 tablespoon tamarind pulps
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup Water
  • As required Salt
  • 2.50 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 tablespoon sweet soy sauce
  • As required Ingredients for spice paste
  • 8 Nos red chillies
  • 3 Nos garlic cloves
  • 4 Nos cloves small shallots/pearl onions
  • 1 stalk Lemongrass
  • 1/2 inch Galangal

Directions: Peanut Sauce Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.Soak red chillies in warm water

step 2

  • STEP 2.Peel off shallots and garlic cloves

step 3

  • STEP 3.Cut lemongrass into 3 strips and use only one strip at the bottom

  • STEP 4.Grind the roasted peanuts

step 5

  • STEP 5.Soak tamarind in ¼ cup water and keep it for 15 mins

step 6

  • STEP 6.Chop the spice paste ingredients and then grind it into a fine paste.

  • STEP 7.Add oil in a saucepan & heat it.

step 9

  • STEP 8.Add ground spice paste,and two upper strips of lemongrass.

  • STEP 9.Now fry the paste until fragrant

step 11

  • STEP 10.Then add the ground peanuts,water,tamarind water,salt,sugar, coriander powder & sweet soy sauce.

step 12

  • STEP 11.Stir and mix well then reduce the flame and stir continuously for 5-10 mins until there is desired consistency.
  • STEP 12.Now turn off the flame then let it cool down and serve with satay.
