Ingredients for Pavaykka Thoran Recipe

  • 3 tablespoon Coconut oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 3 No.s Red chilli
  • 1 sprig Curry leaves
  • 2 tablespoon Chopped shallots
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 2 No.s Thinly sliced bitter gourd
  • 3 Sliced onion medium size
  • As required Salt
  • 2 cup Grated coconut

Directions: Pavaykka Thoran Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.Set a cooking pan on the stove with medium flame.

step 2

  • STEP 1.Add 3 tbsp of coconut oil and add ¼ tsp of mustard seeds. Wait for the mustard seeds to splutter.

step 3

  • STEP 1.Add 3 dry red chilli and a sprig of curry leaves into the pan. Stir well.

step 4

  • STEP 1.Add 2 tbsp of chopped shallots, ¼ tsp of turmeric powder and saute well. Into the pan add 2 medium size bitter gourds thinly sliced. Mix well with other ingredients.

step 5

  • STEP 1.Add 3 green chillies split in half and 3 sliced onions. Cook in a low flame for 8-10 minutes. Stir in between.

step 6

  • STEP 1.6 add a pinch of salt and 2 cup of grated coconut.stir well and cook covered with the lid for 5-6 minutes on low flame.

step 7

  • STEP 1.When the colour turns to a pale brown turn off the flame.
