Patishapta pitha recipe is one of the most renowned and scrumptious Bengali pitha recipes which is compulsorily prepared in every Bengali house during “Poush Parbon”. In short, “Makar Sankranti” is incomplete without patishapta for bengalis. It is hugely popular in West Bengal and Bangladesh. Bengali patishapta recipe is a type of stuffed pancake where coconut-mawa-jaggery stuffing is placed on an all-purpose flour-rice flour-semolina battered crepe and folded to a roll. It is mostly served as snacks with tea but can be relished at any time of the day to satisfy your craving.

Ingredients for Patishapta Recipe

  • As required FOR THE CRÊPE
  • 75 gram maida
  • 30 gram sooji
  • 10 gram rice grains
  • 280 gram Milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 95 gram Sugar
  • 5 gram Ghee
  • As required FOR THE KHEER
  • 1.50 kilogram Milk
  • 1 teaspoon maida

Directions: Patishapta Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.Grind the rice grains into powder

step 2

  • STEP 2.In a bowl mix maida,sooji,rice powder,salt,milk,sugar

step 3

  • STEP 3.Cover and rest for 2hrs

step 4

  • STEP 4.For the kheer boil 1.5kg milk in pan

step 5

  • STEP 5.Add sugar and keep scraping and boiling for 90mins

step 6

  • STEP 6.When you reach consistency

step 7

  • STEP 7.Make a paste of flour and milk

step 8

  • STEP 8.Mix with the kheer and stir for 5mins, your kheer is ready

  • STEP 9.Heat a flat non-stick pan and grease with ghee

step 10

  • STEP 10.Take some batter and make a round on the pan

step 11

  • STEP 11.Keep small portion of kheer in the batter and roll it

step 12

  • STEP 12.Serve as a dessert
