Ingredients for Parippu Curry Recipe

  • 1 glass Toor Dal
  • As required Small sized diced onion
  • As required Small diced tomato
  • 3 slitted green chiles
  • 5-6 curry leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 red chili powder
  • As required Salt
  • 2 glass Water
  • 2 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 2 red chilies

How to Make Parippu Curry Recipe

STEP 01

Wash and soak the dal for 30 mins

STEP 02

Dice the tomato and onion

STEP 03

Add 1 glass of toor dal, diced onion, diced tomato, slitted green chilies and curry leaves, in the pressure cooker

STEP 04

Add 2 glass of water and let it heat,

STEP 05

Do not cover the pressure cooker so that the dal can be inspected from getting over cooked, do not let the dal get too soft .

STEP 06

In another frying pan add 2 tbsp coconut oil and heat it

STEP 07

Add ½ tsp mustard seeds and red chilies

STEP 08

Add curry leaves let them pop , garlic can be added for extra flavours (optional)

STEP 09

Add the cooked dal from pressure cooker in the frying pan

STEP 10

Serve with achaar and rice
