Ingredients for Pappu Charu Recipe

  • 1/4 cup Toor dal
  • 0.63 cup Water
  • 1/2 No.s Green chilies
  • 1/4 No.s Tomato Sliced
  • 0.13 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.63 teaspoon Oil
  • As required Ingredients for Tempering
  • 1.50 No.s Garlic pods
  • 1/4 teaspoon Urad dal
  • 1/4 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 0.13 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1/2 No.s Dry red chilies
  • 1/4 No.s Onion Chopped
  • 1/4 sprig Curry leaves
  • 1/4 pinch Hing
  • As required Coriander chopped for garnish A few

Directions: Pappu Charu Recipe

  • STEP 1.In a pressure cooker add washed toor dal, 2 ½ cup of water, 1 green chilies sliced, 1 tomato sliced, ¼ tsp of turmeric powder, 1tsp of salt, 1 tsp of oil.
  • STEP 2.Pressure cook for 3-4 whistles and let the pressure release by itself.
  • STEP 3.Mash the dal and keep aside.
  • STEP 4.For tempering add 1 ½ tsp of oil in a pot, add 6 garlic pods, 1 tsp of urad dal, 1tsp of mustard seeds, 1 tsp of cumin seeds, 2 dry red chilies, 1 chopped onions let everything fry for 2-3 minutes on medium flame.
  • STEP 5.Then add a pinch of hing and the cooked dal in the pot.
  • STEP 6.Let the dal cook for 15 minutes at low flame.
  • STEP 7.Turn off the flame and garnish with chopped coriander.
  • STEP 8.Take the pappu charu in a bowl and serve..
