Ingredients for Pappada Vada Recipe

  • 0.13 cup Raw rice
  • 1/50 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 0.08 teaspoon Chilly powder
  • 0.13 tablespoon Sesame Seeds
  • 1/25 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • As required Salt
  • 0.08 pinch Asafoetida
  • 0.08 flakes Chilly tsp
  • 1/25 cup Water
  • 0.08 cup Cooking Oil
  • 2.08 No.s Pappad

Directions: Pappada Vada Recipe

Preparation Directions

  • STEP 1.Soak 1 ½ cup of rice in water for 4 hour.
  • STEP 2.Drain out the water and grind it in a mixer grinder to obtain the batter.
  • STEP 3.Preheat the pappads under direct sunlight for half an hour.

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Add to the batter, ¼ tsp of turmeric powder, 1 tsp of chilli powder, 1 ½ tbsp sesame seeds, ½ tsp of cumin seeds and a pinch of salt.
  • STEP 2.Whisk the batter well.
  • STEP 3.Then add 1 tsp of chilli flakes and a pinch of asafoetida.
  • STEP 4.Pour in ½ cult of water and stir well the mixture to obtain a loose consistency. Set aside the batter for half an hour.
  • STEP 5.In a deep fry pan heat cooking oil.
  • STEP 6.Dip and coat each pappad with the batter. Fry it in the pan. Flip the sides till both sides are golden brown shade.
  • STEP 7.Then, transfer the pappads to the serving plate. Repeat the same procedure for the rest of the pappads.
