Papaya salad is widely famous in Thailand and since these South Asian Countries inspire each others food culture so Papaya Salad is also famous in Burmese(Myanmar) with their spices and ingredients. In Burmese it's called Thin Baw Thi Thoke is also flavorful and spicy.

Ingredients for Papaya Thoke Recipe

  • As required For Papaya Thoke
  • 1 medium size Shredded Papaya
  • As required Tamarind Powder
  • 2 Sliced/Chopped onions
  • 2 inch Press and diced garlic
  • As required Readymade Fish Paste
  • 3-4 Diced Thai Chili
  • 1 tablespoon gram flour
  • 1 tablespoon dried and shredded shrimp
  • As required Garlic oil
  • As required Water

Directions: Papaya Thoke Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.In a mixing bowl add 1tbsp tamarind powder, 1tbsp chopped garlic, 1tbsp diced thai chili, 1tsp readymade fish paste, and water in a mixing bowl

  • STEP 1.Make a paste and add the water in batches. Keep pressing the ingredients with your spoon to enhance the taste.

  • STEP 1.Sliced the onions in nice and long pieces and cut the papa length wise as well

  • STEP 1.In a saucepan, boil some water and add noodles to it. Let it cook for 3-5 minutes. Drain the water with the help of a sieve and add 1 tbsp oil so that the noodles don’t stick to each other.

  • STEP 1.In a bowl add the noodles, shredded papaya, sliced onions, 2 tbsp garlic oil, 1 tbsp gram flour, 1 tbsp dried and shredded shrimp, tamarind paste, and a little fish sauce.

  • STEP 1.Mix all the ingredients thoroughly, garnish with some fresh cilantro and enjoy!
