A bengali recipe of paneer with vegetables and spices.Chanar dalna recipe with step by step pics. Vegetarian Bengali cuisine has many delicacies. This chanar dalna is one of them. Basically its a complex flavoured delicious curry made with fresh paneer and potatoes. In the recipe the paneer and potatoes are fried first and then added to the gravy. This is also a no onion no garlic recipe and also called as Niramish chanar dalna.

Ingredients for Paneer-Er Dalna Recipe

  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 3 piece Cardamom
  • 1 piece Cinnamon
  • 3 piece Cloves
  • 2 dried red chilies
  • 3 piece bay leaves
  • 4 gram Cumin powder
  • 2 gram kashmiri red chili powder
  • 4 gram turmeric powder
  • 16 gram Sugar
  • 11 gram Salt
  • 150 gram Potatoes
  • 30 gram Peas
  • 40 gram Capsicum
  • 40 gram ginger paste
  • 50 gram Yoghurt
  • 4 piece green chilies
  • 6 gram Ghee
  • 1/4 teaspoon garam masala
  • 400 gram Paneer

  • STEP 1.Cut the paneer into cubes & And smear with salt and turmeric

  • STEP 1.And smear with salt and turmeric

  • STEP 2.Fry in vegetable oil and set aside

  • STEP 3.Cut the potatoes into cubes

step 5

  • STEP 4.Cut the capsicum into cubes

  • STEP 5.Heat a pan with mustard oil

  • STEP 6.Temper with dried red chilies,bay leaves,cinnamon,cardamom,cloves

  • STEP 7.Add cumin seeds

  • STEP 8.Add potatoes to fry

  • STEP 9.Mix ginger paste with turmeric powder,cumin powder, kashmiri red chili powder and water

  • STEP 10.Add it in the pan and mix well

  • STEP 11.Cook for 6mins

  • STEP 12.Add salt and water

step 14

  • STEP 13.Add capsicum and cook for 3mins

step 15

  • STEP 14.Add green chilies and yoghurt

step 16

  • STEP 15.Mix well and cook for 2 mins on low heat

  • STEP 16.Add peas and sugar , mix well

step 18

  • STEP 17.Add hot water and let it boil

  • STEP 18.Add the fried paneer and cook for 6mins

step 20

  • STEP 19.Add ghee and garam masala

step 21

  • STEP 20.Serve with roti and pulao
