Panakam is a traditional beverage offered to the Lord Ram on special occasions like Rama Navami and then distributed to the devotees. Panakam is a cooling drink from the South Indian cuisine and is especially made during Ram Navami. Its also made as a cooling drink to beat the heat during summers. Preparing panakam is super easy and made with lemon juice, jaggery, ginger powder, cardamom powder and black pepper.

Ingredients for Panakam Recipe

  • 30 gram Black pepper
  • 15 gram Cardamoms
  • 15 gram Dry ginger powder
  • 1.50 cup Jaggery
  • 1 liter Water

Directions: Panakam Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.In a bowl add black peppers and cardamoms and crush to prepare a fine powder.

step 2

  • STEP 1.Add dry ginger powder in the bowl and keep aside.

step 3

  • STEP 1.In a vessel add jaggery and water and combine the jaggery until it is completely dissolved.

step 4

  • STEP 1.Add the powder prepared earlier in the vessel and mix everything. Serve and enjoy.
