A traditional easy to make crispy snack made from gram flour, rice flour, salt and seasoning ingredients. The dough is passed through seavnazhi and pakkavada is ready.
STEP 1.Take a bowl, add 1cup gram flour, 1cup rice flour, salt to taste, ¼ tsp fennel seed powder, ¼ tsp asafoetida and 1 tsp chilli powder. Mix it well.
STEP 2.Gradually add some water and mix the ingredients to prepare the dough.
STEP 3.Place the disc into the sevanazhi and fill the prepared dough into sevanazhi and close it.
STEP 4.Heat oil in a pan.Using sevanazhi press the dough straight to hot oil. Gently turn the pakkavada when one side gets a golden colour. When both sides attain a golden colour take it out from the pan.
STEP 5.Do the same for the rest of the dough left.
STEP 6.Take some curry leaves and fry it for just 5 sec. Turn off the flame.
STEP 7.Crispy Pakkavada is ready to be served with fried curry leaves.
