Into a bowl add 1 cup of gram flour, 1 cup of rice flour, 1 tsp of kashmirir chilli powder, ½ tsp of pepper, ½ tsp fennel powder, ¼ tsp of asafoetida and a pinch of salt to taste.
Gently pour in water by mixing the ingredients to form a dough.
Grease the interiors of the pakkavada maker with ghee so that dough won’t stick.
Fill in the dough into the pakkavada maker
Set up a pan on medium flame. Add oil for frying.
Gently turn the lever of the pakkavada maker so that the dough falls directly into the frying pan.
Toss the sides to form golden brown shades on both sides.
In the same pan fry a branch of curry leaves and garnish the crispy hot pakka vada.
