Omelets are often a brunch or hearty breakfast item in the Western world. But in Thailand, there are a variety of omelet-style dishes that will shatter your preconceived notion of what omelets should be. Try this oyster omlette or Hoy Tod made with wheat flour, corn starch, mussels, eggs, bean sprouts, spring onions, coriander and some sme dellecious sauces.

Ingredients for Oyster Omelet (Hoy Tod) Recipe

  • 1 cup Wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup Cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup Crispy flour
  • 1.50 cup Cool water
  • 300 gram Mussel
  • 5 Egg
  • 5 cup Bean Sprouts
  • 5 tablespoon Spring onion
  • 5 tablespoon Coriander
  • 5 teaspoon Ground pepper
  • As required Crispy Oyster Omelet Dip sauce
  • 2 cup Chili sauce
  • 1 cup Chicken sauce

Directions: Oyster Omelet (hoy Tod) Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.In a bowl add 2 cups chili sauce and 1 cup sweet chili sauce, mix well. In another bowl add 1 cup wheat flour, ½ cup cornstarch, ½ cup crispy flour, and 1 ½ cup cool water and mix it to a smooth batter.

  • STEP 1.Add the mussels, mix well, and set it aside for 30mins.

  • STEP 1.In a bowl add 2 tbsp oil, and add the batter, on top add one egg and spread it well on top of the batter. Flip it and let it cook from the other side as well. In the same pan add 1 cup bean sprouts, and saute them.

step 8

  • STEP 2.Top it with 1tsp ground pepper, 1 tbsp chopped spring onion, 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves, and the dipping sauce.
