An easy instant spicy dish prepared from blend mish & prawn and with so many other ingredients, preferably eaten with white rice or bread. Otak otak is a refreshing mix of exotic spices and vegetables and can be served on special occassions.

Ingredients for Otak Otak Recipe
- 400 gram batang/mackerel fish
- 200 gram prawn meat
- 200 gram fish paste
- 0.33 cup Oil
- 1 tablespoon coriander powder
- 1 tablespoon Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 2 Nos eggs
- 100 milliliter coconut milk
- 1-2 packets banana leaves
- As required Ingredients for Chilli paste
- 30 gram dried chilli
- 4 Nos chili padi
- 2 Nos big red chili
- 30 gram Lemongrass
- 4 Nos kafir lime leaves
- 250 gram Shallots
- 25 gram Galangal
- 10 Nos candlenuts
- 20 gram belanchan
- 1 tablespoon turmeric powder
How to Make Otak Otak Recipe
Preparations directions for chilli paste
Soak dried chilli in hot water for 30 mins.
Grind all the ingredients of chilli paste and add some oil in the mixture only if it is too dry for grinding.
Add some oil in a pan & fry the prepared chilli paste until it becomes sambal sauce,add coriander powder,sugar and salt.
Now let the fried mixture cool down.
Preparations directions for otah paste
Add eggs, coconut milk to blend fish mixture and blend until a smooth texture appears.
Now add chilli paste and blend it into a light orange paste.
Preparations directions for wrap
Clean banana leaves and wipe dry with a cloth piece.
Brush the dull side of the banana leaf with oil and add 2 tbsp of otak paste.
Now fasten the two ends with toothpicks making sure that there is no leakage.
1.grill the otak for 5-6 mins from each side and then serve it when it becomes firm.
2.serve with white rice.
