Rajasthani Onion Sabzi is a dish that is made in a spicy yogurt curry. This dish is very easy to make with minimum ingredients- Spring onions, yogurt, ginger, garlic and red chilli and can be prepared in a short amount of time. Rajasthani kande ki sabzi is simple yet delicious dish that can be a delightful addition to your regular diet.

Ingredients for Onion Sabzi Recipe

  • 1 No.s small Onion
  • 5 tablespoon Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 2 tablespoon Garlic paste
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger paste
  • 5 Chopped Green Chilies
  • 8-10 Curry leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon Asafetida
  • 1 cup chopped Onion
  • 1 cup Tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon Kashmiri Red Chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon Coriander powder
  • As required Salt
  • 1 cup Curd/ Yogurt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garam Masala

Directions: Onion Sabzi Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.1. Take 500 gram small onions and make a cross incision on it in order to stuff it with the masalas.

step 2

  • STEP 2.2. Heat some oil in a pan and then put cumin seeds, garlic paste, ginger paste, chopped green chillies, curry leaves and asafoetida to it.

  • STEP 3.3. Cook it for a while and now add chopped onions into it and cook until the onions turn transparent.

  • STEP 4.4. Now add the tomato puree, red chilli powder, turmeric, coriander powder and salt to it. Cook it for sometime while stirring continuously till the oil starts getting separated.

  • STEP 5.5. Add curd to the gravy and make sure that you stir it continuously in order to avoid lumps.

  • STEP 6.6. Add your onions to the gravy and mix it well so that the gravy gets infused in them.

  • STEP 7.7. Cover the pan and cook it for 8-10 minutes.

  • STEP 8.8. Now add garam masala and mix it nicely. Cook the veggie for another 4-5 minutes.

step 9

  • STEP 9.9. Turn the stove off and garnish it with coriander leaves. Voilla! your onion sabzi is ready to serve.
