Ingredients for One Pot Methi And Matar Palao Recipe

  • 2 tablespoon Ghee or oil
  • 3 No.s Garlic cloves grated
  • 1 inch Ginger grated
  • 2 No.s Green chillies slit
  • 1 No.s Bay leaf
  • 3 No.s Cloves
  • 3 No.s Cardamom
  • 200 gram Methi leaves finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1 cup Coconut milk
  • 1 cup Washed rice

Directions: One Pot Methi And Matar Palao Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.1in a deep pot, add 2 tbsp ghee or oil, 3 cloves grated garlic, 1 inch ginger grated, 2 slit green chillies , 1 bay leaf, 3 cloves (lavang), 3 cardamom (elaichi). Sit on low heat and roast till the aromas of the spices come through.

  • STEP 2.2next add 200 gm finely chopped methi (fenugreek) leaves. Cook till leaves begin to wilt and become soft.

  • STEP 3.3add ½ tsp turmeric (haldi) powder, 1 tsp cumin seeds, 1 cup coconut milk, 1 cup washed rice and stir. Add salt to taste.

  • STEP 4.3next add the required amount of water, keeping in mind that coconut has also been added.

step 5

  • STEP 5.4bring the rice to a brisk boil and then turn the heat to simmer. Cover the pan and cook the rice until all the liquid is absorbed and the rice is cooked. Add 1 cup steamed green peas and gently stir in the peas. Turn off the heat.

step 6

  • STEP 6.5serve hot with raita.
