STEP 1.In a pot, heat 3 tsp oil, add 1tsp of mustard seeds and let sputter then add ½ tsp urad dal, 1 tsp chana dal, ½ tsp cumin and few curry leaves.
STEP 2.Add ½ tsp ginger paste and 2 chili. Saute for 1-2 minutes.
STEP 3.Then add 1 grated carrot and ¼ tsp turmeric powder and saute for 2 minutes.
STEP 4.Now add ½ cup semolina and roast on low flame for 2-3 minutes.
STEP 5.Add powdered oats and mix well.
STEP 6.Take the mixture on a plate and let it cool completely.
STEP 7.Then add ½ cup curd and ½ cup water.
STEP 8.Combine everything well and make sure there are no lumps in the batter.
STEP 9.Add 2 tbsp coriander, ¾ tsp salt and ½ cup water.
STEP 10.Mix well and prepare a batter of consistency like idli batter, rest the batter for 20 minutes.
STEP 11.Before adding the batter in the steamer add a ½ tsp eno (fruit salt) and mix well.
STEP 12.Steam the oats idli for 15 minutes on medium flame.
STEP 13.Serve the idlis on a plate and enjoy.
