Ingredients for No Coconut Vattayappam Recipe

  • 1/4 cup Raw Rice
  • 0.13 cup Poha
  • 0.06 teaspoon Yeast
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Salt Water
  • 0.06 teaspoon Cardamom Powder

Directions: No Coconut Vattayappam Recipe

Preparation Time

  • STEP 1.Take water in a bowl and add 2 cup raw rice. Soak it for 3-4hrs. Wash it and drain off the excess water.
  • STEP 2.Wash and soak 1 cup poha in water.

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Take a jar and add rice, soaked poha and 1/2cup water. Grind it. Make sure to grind the rice in batches.
  • STEP 2.In the last batch, add 4tbsp sugar and ½ tsp yeast. Grind well.
  • STEP 3.Cover it and let it rest for 3-4hrs.
  • STEP 4.Grease a plate or mould. Place it in the steamer and add pour 6ladle batter. Cover it and cook it in high flame for 20mins.
  • STEP 5.Take vattayappam out of the steamer.
  • STEP 6.Let it cool down. Transfer it to a serving plate.
  • STEP 7.No coconut vattayappam is ready to be served
