Ingredients for Njanga Rice Recipe

  • 3/4 cup Crayfish
  • 5-7 cloves garlic
  • 3/4 cup red palm oil
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 2 Nos roma tomatoes
  • 3 cup jasmine rice
  • 5 cup Water
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 3 teaspoon chicken bouillon powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground white pepper
  • 2 cup smoked fish
  • 1 Nos habanero pepper

Directions: Njanga Rice Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.Grind crayfish coarsely and keep it aside

step 2

  • STEP 2.Blend garlic cloves along with some water and make a paste.

step 3

  • STEP 3.Clean and wash rice 3-4 times.

step 5

  • STEP 1.Add palm oil in a cooking pot & heat it. Add chopped onions and saute it for 2 minutes.

step 7

  • STEP 1.Then add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they are soft. Add blend garlic paste, crayfish followed by washed rice.

step 9

  • STEP 1.5. Now add 5 cups of water and stir it. Add salt as per taste followed by chicken bouillon powder,white pepper,smoked fish, habanero pepper and cook it for 40 mins with the lid on.

  • STEP 4.7. Turn off the flame and serve it
