A delicious healthy dish prepared from black eyed beans,pepper and turkey wing. Ewa riro is a delicious one-pot Nigerian delicacy that is easy to prepare but yields a rich flavor. This is truly the best-stewed beans recipe that you will ever taste. Plus it’s incredibly economical. Beans Stew is a favorite dinner in our house, it’s warming, hearty, tasty, and quite filling. Serve it with Garri (cassava flakes), fresh bread, or fried ripe plantains.

Ingredients for Nigerian Stewed Beans/Ewa Riro Recipe

  • 3 cup black eyed beans
  • 1 Nos red bell pepper
  • 1 Nos onion
  • 1 Nos turkey wing
  • 1 Nos habanero pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Crayfish
  • 1/2 tablespoon seasoning powder
  • 1/4 cup palm oil
  • 6-9 cup Water
  • As required Salt

Directions: Nigerian Stewed Beans/ewa Riro Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.Clean, wash black eyed beans. Cut bell pepper in three parts . In a pot add black eyed beans followed by bell pepper, habanero pepper onion and roasted turkey wing. Now add 6 cups of water and cover it with a lid and boil for 45 minutes. Then take it out on a plate. Blend the bell pepper, habanero pepper and onion.

  • STEP 1.Cut the smoked turkey into pieces and discard the bones. Then add the shredded turkey into the pot along with ground paste. Add salt as per taste, seasoning powder, crayfish and palm oil. Mix it all. Cook it at low flame for 2 minutes. Serve the stew hot with some plantains.
