Optional ingredients include eggs, nutmeg and baking powder according to individual preference. The dough is cut into various shapes and sizes then typically deep fried in vegetable oil. It is a West African Fried pastry enjoyed throughout the region especially in Nigeria also Crispy Crunchy and Addictive. Chin chin is an all time favorite snack it tastes so good. Ingredients for Nigerian Chin Chin Recipe

  • 2.25 cup All purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • As required Some nutmeg
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 Nos large egg
  • 5-6 tablespoon Milk
  • 2.50 tablespoon Melted Butter
  • As required Vegetable Oil

  • STEP 1.In a bowl add all purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, nutmeg and mix all the ingredients.

  • STEP 1.Now crack an egg into the bowl followed by melted butter and some milk.

  • STEP 1.Knead the ingredients to make a dough. Now place the dough on a platform and dust it. Now with a rolling pin flatten it and cut into parts.

step 4

  • STEP 1.Now cut the flattened dough vertically into long strips and then cut it horizontally into a small rectangle-like shape.

step 5

  • STEP 1.Preheat the oil in a cooking pot. Now add the chin chin into the pot and fry it until golden brown.
