How to Make Neyyappam Recipe
Take jaggery and water in a pan; heat it until the jaggery melts
Slice and chop coconut into small pieces.
Take rice flour in a bowl. Add maida and the prepared solution of jaggery. Make sure the solution is added gradually and not all at once. Add a pinch of salt and mix it well. Make sure there are no lumps in the batter.
Let the batter rest for 2hrs.
Add cardamom powder, cumin powder, sesame seeds and mix well.
Heat oil in a pan and add coconut. When the coconut attains a golden brown colour take out the coconut from the pan and add it to the batter (don’t turn off the flame). Mix it well.
Pour a ladle full of batter to the pan. Gently turn the neyyappam when one side gets a golden brown colour. When both sides attain a golden brown colour take it out from the pan.
Do the same for the rest of the batter left. Turn off the flame.
Neyyappam is ready to be served.
