Ingredients for Neychoru Recipe

  • 1/2 cup Basmati rice
  • 0.08 piece Onion sliced lengthwise
  • 0.83 No.s Green chilli
  • 0.17 piece Ginger
  • 0.67 No.s Garlic
  • 1.67 No.s Cardamom
  • 1.17 No.s Cloves
  • 0.33 No.s Cinnamon stick
  • 0.17 No.s Mace
  • 0.33 tablespoon Ghee
  • 0.33 tablespoon Cashews
  • 0.33 tablespoon Raisins

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a mortar crush 10 cardamoms, 1 piece ginger and 4 garlics
  • STEP 2.In a deep pan add 2 tbsp ghee, 7 cloves, 1 cinnamon stick and a piece of mace.
  • STEP 3.Add the crushed ingredients and mix well.Saute well.
  • STEP 4.Into the pan add sliced onions and green chillies.
  • STEP 5.Pour 4 ½ cup of boiling water into the pan. Add a pinch of salt to taste and mix well.
  • STEP 6.Finally add the soaked and drained basmati rice.
  • STEP 7.Cover the vessel with a towel in between the lid.
  • STEP 8.After 5 minutes, gently stir the mixture. Cover the vessel and cook again for another 5 minutes.
  • STEP 9.Garnish with fried cashews and raisins on top of rice.
