Traditionally, rice is soaked for 3-4 hours then grounded into the coarse and grainy mixture and crushed coconut, onion, fennel, and cumin seeds are added and then deep-fried. How to Make Ney Pathal (poricha Pathiri) Recipe
Take 1 cup puttu podi in a bowl, add salt to taste and add 1 ¼ cup boiling hot water. Mix well. Let it rest for 10mins.
Take a jar and add 6tbsp grated coconut, 4shallots, ¼ tsp fennel seeds, ½ tsp cumin seeds. Grind it coarsely.
After letting the rice flour rest for 10 mins, mix it well. Add the prepared mixture into it. Mix well for 10 mins.
Make small balls with the mixture.
Flatten the ball with your palm to make a circular disc with medium thickness.
Do the same for the rest of the balls.
Heat oil in a pan and fry the ney pathals one by one.
Ney pathal is ready to be served.
