Traditionally, rice is soaked for 3-4 hours then grounded into the coarse and grainy mixture and crushed coconut, onion, fennel, and cumin seeds are added and then deep-fried. Another method is easy to follow one, using coarse rice flour. You can make this tasty delicious pathiri for breakfast, for tea time snack or for dinner.

How to Make Ney Pathal (poricha Pathiri) Recipe
Cooking Directions
STEP 01
Take 1 cup puttu podi in a bowl, add salt to taste and add 1 ¼ cup boiling hot water. Mix well. Let it rest for 10mins.
STEP 02
Take a jar and add 6tbsp grated coconut, 4shallots, ¼ tsp fennel seeds, ½ tsp cumin seeds. Grind it coarsely.
STEP 03
After letting the rice flour rest for 10 mins, mix it well. Add the prepared mixture into it. Mix well for 10 mins.
STEP 04
Make small balls with the mixture.
STEP 05
Flatten the ball with your palm to make a circular disc with medium thickness.
STEP 06
Do the same for the rest of the balls.
STEP 07
Heat oil in a pan and fry the ney pathals one by one.
STEP 08
Ney pathal is ready to be served.
