Ingredients for Nasi Minyak Recipe

  • 1 Nos yellow onion
  • 3 Nos shallots
  • 2 Nos garlic cloves
  • 1 stalk Lemongrass
  • 2 cm ginger
  • 2 tablespoon Ghee
  • 1/2 tablespoon margarine
  • 1 cup Rice
  • 1 stick Nos cinnamon
  • 2 Nos cloves
  • 2 Nosgreen cardamom
  • 1 Nos pandan leaf
  • 100 milliliter evaporated milk
  • 300 milliliter Water
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon Water
  • 2 Nos coriander

Directions: Nasi Minyak Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.Slice onions and shallots

  • STEP 2.Mince garlic and ginger

step 3

  • STEP 3.Bruise the bottom part of lemongrass

step 4

  • STEP 4.Wash rice and drain the water out

  • STEP 1.heat ghee & margarine in a rice pot at medium flame

  • STEP 1.then add lemongrass,shallots,onions,garlic,ginger and saute it.

  • STEP 1.add star anise,clove,cardamom pods, cinnamon and stir until fragrant

step 9

  • STEP 1.add a knotted pandan into the pot and saute for 30 secs and then add rice.

step 10

  • STEP 1.now add evaporated milk,water,a pinch of salt in the pot.

step 11

  • STEP 1.once it starts boiling,cover it and cook for 15 mins at low flame.

step 12

  • STEP 1.turn off the gas and mix 2 tbsp water and turmeric powder thoroughly into the cooked rice

step 13

  • STEP 1.lastly,garnish it with fresh coriander leaves,cover and let it rest for 10 mins.
