Nasi Lemak Recipe

Recipe By Slurrp

Needless to say, we Asians go gaga over filling and wholesome meals. And when talking about the same, I can’t miss mentioning Nasi Lemak. The Malaysian delight is full of nutrition, taste and everything else you need in a wholesome meal. The dish usually consists of rice cooked in coconut milk and pandan leaves, boiled eggs, anchovies, cucumbers, peanuts and spicy sambal. The name of the dish has an interesting folklore behind it too. The story goes with an accidental remark by Mak Kuntum’s daughter when asked what’s for lunch that day. To answer her mother’s question about the fragrant rice, the daughter said, “Nasi le, mak!”, meaning “rice, mother!”. And that’s how the dish got its name. The meal is perfect for anyone who is craving a healthy and filling meal. Try this recipe to make Nasi Lemak at home and let us know how it turns out.
