Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Heat oil in a large pot and add sliced onions. Cook until golden brown.
  • STEP 2.Add ginger-garlic paste, green chilies, and spices. Cook for a minute.
  • STEP 3.Add lamb shanks and brown them on all sides. Add water and bring to a boil.
  • STEP 4.Reduce heat, cover the pot, and simmer for 2-3 hours until the meat is tender.
  • STEP 5.Remove the shanks from the pot and shred the meat. Skim off any excess fat from the gravy.
  • STEP 6.Return the shredded meat to the pot and simmer for another 15-20 minutes.
  • STEP 7.Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with naan or rice.
