Ingredients for Nadan Kozhi Varuthathu Recipe

  • 2 kilogram Chicken
  • 15 Dry kashmiri chili
  • 4 Large Onion
  • As required Handful curry leaves
  • 1 piece Ginger big
  • 15 Garlic pod
  • 3 tablespoon Coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon Fennel seeds
  • 5 Cardamom
  • 5 Cloves
  • 4-5 stick Cinnamon
  • As required Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garam masala powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 1/2 Lemon juice

How to Make Nadan Kozhi Varuthathu Recipe

Cooking Directions


Cut and wash the chicken pieces . Chop the onions and ginger.

Heat 2 tsp coconut oil in the frying pan, add the chopped onions and ginger. Add garlic pods , curry leaves and dry kashmiri red chilies

Add 1tsp of fennel seeds and 5 cardamom, fry it for 3 mins on high flame . Grind these fried spices in a grinding bowl

On a heated cooking bowl add 1tsp of coconut . Add cloves and cinnamon, then add the grinded paste of the spices , fry well

Add salt to taste , ½ tsp turmeric powder,½ tsp garam masala powder and ½ tsp coriander powder. Add the chicken and mix well.

Add curry leaves and cover cook for 5 mins. After the oil separated, add lemon juice then mix well on high flames for 2 mins

Take it out in a serving plate and serve with breads
