Nadan beef is a delicacy that goes well with puttu, appam, rice, chapati and tapioca. Nadan beef is a coveted recipe, particularly in toddy shops across Kerala, also known as beef shappu curry. Tapioca is very feasible in God’s Own Country, and you'll find ‘Kappa With Beef Curry’ being sold as a sizzling choice. This delightful, healthy dish is relished with the poor and wealthy classes.

Ingredients for Nadan Beef Recipe

  • 1/2 kilogram Indian beef
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon kashmiri chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil
  • As required Handful of curry leaves
  • 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 2 green chilies split cut from middle

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Cut and wash the beef properly

  • STEP 1.Marinate the beef with 1tsp kashmiri red chili powder , 1tsp red chili powder, ¼ turmeric powder,1tsp coriander powder,¼ tsp garam masala powder, ½ tsp salt or to taste,1tsp coconut oil,handful of curry leaves and onions(optional),add 1tsp vinegar let it be for 20mis . Do not add water

  • STEP 1.Heat the pressure cooker , add the marinated beef and cook until 10 whistles

  • STEP 1.Heat the cooking pan and add 2tbsp coconut/cooking oil

  • STEP 1.Add 1tsp kashmiri red chili powder, 1tsp red chili powder,¼ turmeric powder, ½ tsp garam masala powder, mix well and cook for 4 mins . Add the cooked beef from pressure cooker and mix well.

step 6

  • STEP 1.Cook until the curry gets thick , add curry leaves and green chilies , cover and cook it for 5mins on low flame . Serve it with parathas or bread.
