  • 125 gram Mutton, Cut Into Pieces
  • 1/2 tablespoon Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • As required Salt To Taste
  • 1/2 tablespoon Oil
  • 1/2 Onions, Finely Chopped
  • 1/2 Tomatoes, Finely Chopped
  • 1/2 tablespoon Savji Masala
  • As required Water As Required

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a bowl, marinate the mutton pieces with ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Let it sit for 30 minutes.
  • STEP 2.Heat oil in a pressure cooker and add chopped onions. Saute until golden brown.
  • STEP 3.Add the marinated mutton pieces and cook until they are browned on all sides.
  • STEP 4.Add chopped tomatoes, Savji masala, and salt. Mix well and cook for a few minutes.
  • STEP 5.Add water and pressure cook for about 4-5 whistles or until the mutton is tender.
  • STEP 6.Once the pressure is released, open the cooker and simmer the gravy until it thickens.
  • STEP 7.Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or roti.

Cooking Tips

  • You can adjust the spice level according to your preference by adding more or less red chili powder.
  • For a richer flavor, you can add a tablespoon of ghee while cooking the mutton.
  • If you don't have Savji masala, you can substitute it with a combination of garam masala and Maharashtrian Kala Masala.

Storage and Serving

  • Mutton Savji can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat the curry on the stovetop or in the microwave before serving.
