  • 250 gram Mutton, Cut Into Pieces
  • 1/2 cup Yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red Chili Powder

  • 1.50 tablespoon Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin Seeds

  • 1/2 Bay Leaf
  • 1.50 Onions, Finely Chopped
  • 1 Tomatoes, Finely Chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Coriander Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garam Masala
  • as required Chopped Coriander Leaves For Garnish

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a bowl, marinate the mutton with yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Let it marinate for at least 1 hour.
  • STEP 2.Heat oil in a pressure cooker or a deep pan. Add cumin seeds, cloves, cinnamon stick, and bay leaf. Saute until fragrant.
  • STEP 3.Add chopped onions and cook until golden brown. Add ginger-garlic paste and saute for a minute.
  • STEP 4.Add marinated mutton and cook until it changes color. Add chopped tomatoes, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well.
  • STEP 5.Cover the pressure cooker and cook for about 4-5 whistles or until the mutton is tender. If using a pan, cover and cook on low heat for about 1-2 hours.
  • STEP 6.Once the mutton is cooked, remove the lid and cook on high heat until the gravy thickens. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
  • STEP 7.Serve hot with rice or roti.

Cooking Tips

  • Marinating the mutton for a longer time will enhance the flavors.
  • If using a pressure cooker, make sure to release the pressure completely before opening the lid.
  • You can adjust the spice level according to your preference by adding more or less chili powder.
