Ingredients for Muri Ghonto (2 Ways) Recipe

  • As required Muri Ghonto/Macher er matha diye dal
  • 1/2 cup moong dal
  • As required Head of Katla fish
  • 4-5 green chili
  • 1.50 cup onion chopped
  • None Cooking Oil
  • 2 teaspoon Ghee
  • 1.50 teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 2 tablespoon Ginger paste
  • 2 tablespoon Garlic paste
  • 2 tablespoon Cumin paste
  • 2 tablespoon Coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric
  • NaN As required Salt
  • None Bay leaf
  • 4 stick small cinnamon
  • 6 Cardamom
  • As required Muri Ghonto/Fish Polau
  • 1/2 cup gobindo bhog rice
  • As required Head of katla fish
  • 4-5 green chili
  • As required Turmeric

Directions: Muri Ghonto (2 Ways) Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.Mach er matha diye dal. Then brush the shell off the fish and cut the head of the fish into moderate pieces.

  • STEP 1.Wash them thoroughly. Chop the onions and green chili.

step 3

  • STEP 1.Coat the head of the fish with 1tsp turmeric and 1tsp salt. Let it sit for 10 mins. Take ½ cup moong dal and wash it thoroughly then let it dry in a pan for 30 mins

  • STEP 1.Meanwhile, take a kadai heat 3-4tsp oil. Then add the damp dal and saute them for 8-10mins, your kitchen is going to smell heavenly.

  • STEP 1.In the same kadai add the right amount of oil and fry the fish evenly from all sides, wait for the fish to turn golden-brown. Fish polau.

  • STEP 1.Then brush the shell off the fish and cut the head of the fish into moderate pieces.

  • STEP 1.Take a saucepan, heat 7-8tbsp of cooking oil. Then add the chopped onions and green chili, fry them. Wait for the onions to get translucent.

  • STEP 1.Add the bay leaf, cinnamon, and cardamom mix it well with the onion and green chili. Wait for the aroma to infuse.

  • STEP 1.Then add the ginger paste, garlic paste, and cumin paste, saute them well. Later add the spices- 1tsp turmeric powder, 1tsp chili powder, coriander powder, and salt to taste.

  • STEP 1.Sprinkle; some water and saute them again. Now add the fried fish and give it the right mix.

  • STEP 1.Add the roasted dal and mix it well with the masala and fish. Then add 1-2 cups of water and mix them thoroughly.

  • STEP 1.Cover it and stir it occasionally and cover it again. Once all the flavors are enhanced and the rice is cooked.

  • STEP 1.Mix all of them very well and cook it for more 5mins. Turn off the gas. Serve it with steamed rice and enjoy.
