  • 0.06 cup Chana Dal
  • 0.13 cup Grated Coconut

  • 0.13 teaspoon Ginger Paste

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.To make multi-coloured kuzhi paniyaram, prepare a batter by fermenting rice and lentils overnight.
  • STEP 2.Divide the batter into different bowls and add vegetable purees like spinach, beetroot, and carrot to each bowl.
  • STEP 3.Heat a paniyaram pan and add a few drops of oil in each cavity. Pour the different colored batter into each cavity and cook on medium heat.
  • STEP 4.Flip the paniyarams using a skewer or spoon when the bottom side turns golden brown. Cook the other side until it becomes crispy.
  • STEP 5.Remove the paniyarams from the pan and serve hot with coconut chutney or sambar.

Cooking Tips

  • Make sure the batter is well fermented to get soft and fluffy paniyarams.
  • You can use any vegetable puree of your choice to add color and flavor to the paniyarams.
  • If you don't have a paniyaram pan, you can also use an appe pan or aebleskiver pan as a substitute.

Storage and Serving

  • Multi-coloured kuzhi paniyaram is best served hot and fresh.
  • Leftover paniyarams can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
