Ingredients for Mulaku Chammanthi/Dry Red Chilli Chutney Recipe

  • 2 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 25 Nos small Onion
  • 1 Nos tamarind
  • As required Some curry leaves
  • As required Salt
  • 10 Nos dry red chilli
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 2 tablespoon Coconut

  • STEP 1.Slice onions

  • STEP 2.Grate fresh coconut
  • STEP 3.Add oil in a kadai and heat it. Add sliced onions. Saute for a min and add tamarind.
  • STEP 4.Add curry leaves , salt and saute. Add dry red chili and turmeric powder .Mix and saute for a few minutes until it changes into golden brown.
  • STEP 5.Add grated coconut and mix. Let the fried mixture cool down a bit and then grind. Serve with rice /idli /dosa or curd .
