It is a very popular sweet dish prepared from rice squares coated with sugar,ground roasted peanuts and sesame seeds.Mua Chee is the Chinese version of ‘mochi’. This glutinous rice snack is coated with sesame seeds or peanuts. It‘s a favourite street snack across China, Taiwan, and even Malaysia and Singapore.

Ingredients for Muar Chee Recipe

  • 8 ounce glutinous rice flour
  • 2 tablespoon tapioca flour
  • 1.50 cup Water
  • As required Cooking Oil
  • As required Fried shallots crisps
  • As required Ingredients For Roasted Peanuts Mixture
  • 4 ounce ground roasted peanuts
  • 4 ounce Sugar
  • 2 ounce sesame seeds

Directions: Muar Chee Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.In a bowl add glutinous rice flour,tapioca flour with water to form a batter
  • STEP 2.transfer the batter into a greased pan and steam it at high flame for 10-15 mins until the batter is cooked completely from the centre.
  • STEP 3.Take a big bowl and mix ground roasted peanuts, sugar and sesame seeds well. Cut the steamed rice cake into small pieces and mix it in the mixture well.
  • STEP 4.Now serve it some fried shallot crips.
