A simple dish prepared from fish,plantains and seasoning cubes, Steamed spicy fish in plantain flour paste , consisting of red bell pepper, onions , palm oil and African spices and is one of the traditional dishes of the Bafaw and Bakossi tribes in Meme and Kupe Manenguba Divisions of Cameroon.

Ingredients for Mpuh Fish Recipe

  • 1-1 kilogram fish
  • 2 Nos plantains
  • 1 cup njangsa seeds
  • 2 Nos garlic cloves
  • 1/2 Nos medium onion
  • 3 Nos small seasoning cubes
  • 1/2 teaspoon White Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

Directions: Mpuh Fish Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.Peel off plantains and cut it into thin strips, grind onion,garlic and make a paste and cut the fish into strips

  • STEP 1. In a cooking pot add plantain flour,njangsa,white pepper,onion garlic paste,salt and seasoning cubes.

  • STEP 1.Now add 3 cups of water, fish and combine it into the mixture well.

  • STEP 1.Cover and cook for 20 mins

step 10

  • STEP 1.bake plantain slices at 100 degrees celsius until they become crispy.

step 11

  • STEP 1.Once baked,take it out and let it cool down
