  • 12 ounce whole almonds
  • 6 ounce Powdered Sugar
  • 2 Egg
  • 1 small lemon
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil for rolling
  • As required few whole almonds for decoration

  • STEP 1.Start by grinding the almonds in a grinder until you get a coarse powder with a fine texture.

  • STEP 2.Also, grate the peel of the lemon to get the lemon zest, next separate the egg yolks from the egg whites.

  • STEP 3.Mix the egg yolks thoroughly with the almond powder, powdered sugar, lemon zest, and baking powder.

  • STEP 4.Beat the egg whites continuously until you obtain a thick white foam or you can use a hand blender.

  • STEP 5.Integrate the egg whites in the egg yolks mixture and use your palm to mix the dough to ensure that all ingredients are well incorporated.

  • STEP 6.To shape the macaroons, put some cooking oil in your palm so that the dough does not stick to them. Take a little amount of the dough and roll it in a ball, press it a bit to flatten it, and place it in a baking tray with wax paper.

  • STEP 7.Preheat your oven to 350 f and bake the macaroons for 15 minutes until they turn golden, when still hot, the macaroons are very soft, their texture will change and become crunchy as they cool down.
