  • 1/4 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 1/4 Onion, Finely Chopped

  • 1/4 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • 1/2 Tomatoes, Chopped

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Soak the moong dal vadi in water for 15-20 minutes to soften them.
  • STEP 2.Heat oil in a pan and fry the vadi until they turn golden brown. Remove and keep aside.
  • STEP 3.In the same pan, add cumin seeds, chopped onions, and sauté until onions turn golden brown.
  • STEP 4.Add ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and cook for a minute.
  • STEP 5.Add chopped tomatoes, salt, and cook until tomatoes are soft and mushy.
  • STEP 6.Add water and bring the gravy to a boil. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  • STEP 7.Add the fried vadi to the gravy and cook for another 5 minutes.
  • STEP 8.Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or roti.
