  • 0.13 cup Moong Dal
  • 0.13 Small Onion, Finely Chopped
  • 0.31 En Chilies, Finely Chopped
  • 0.13 inch Ginger, Grated
  • 1/4 tablespoon Coriander Leaves, Chopped
  • 0.13 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • As required Salt To Taste

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Wash and soak moong dal for 4-5 hours. Drain the water and grind it into a coarse paste.
  • STEP 2.Add chopped onions, green chilies, ginger, coriander leaves, cumin seeds, and salt to the dal paste. Mix well.
  • STEP 3.Heat oil in a deep pan. Take small portions of the dal mixture and shape them into small patties.
  • STEP 4.Carefully drop the patties into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy.
  • STEP 5.Remove the vadas from the oil and drain excess oil on a paper towel.
  • STEP 6.Serve hot with chutney or ketchup.

Cooking Tips

  • Make sure to soak the moong dal for at least 4-5 hours to ensure a smooth batter.
  • You can add a pinch of baking soda to the batter to make the vadas more fluffy.
  • Adjust the spice level by adding more or fewer green chilies according to your preference.
