Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Wash and soak the moong dal for 30 minutes.
  • STEP 2.Pressure cook the moong dal until soft and mushy.
  • STEP 3.In a pan, heat oil and add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, and curry leaves.
  • STEP 4.Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  • STEP 5.Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute.
  • STEP 6.Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt to the pan.
  • STEP 7.Add the cooked moong dal and mix well.
  • STEP 8.In a separate bowl, whisk the yogurt with water until smooth.
  • STEP 9.Add the yogurt mixture to the pan and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  • STEP 10.Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or roti.
