Ingredients for Moong Dal Halwa Recipe

  • As Required Milk
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Kesar
  • 1 Cup moong dal
  • 0.33 Cup Ghee
  • 1/2 Cup cashews and almonds
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon elaichi powder

Directions: Moong Dal Halwa Recipe

  • STEP 1.Take out some milk in a glass and add kesar strands to it and keep it aside.
  • STEP 2.Now take moong dal and grind it using a grinder.
  • STEP 3.In a pan take 2 tsp ghee and roast your cashews and almonds for 3-4 minutes and keep them aside
  • STEP 4.In a pan take add ⅓ rd cup of ghee and add grinded moong dal in it.
  • STEP 5.Cook it for 15 minutes on medium flame until it turns golden brown.
  • STEP 6.Now add milk to the pan, prepared kesar milk and 1 cup of water.
  • STEP 7.Keep on stirring it so that no lumps are formed and cook it for 10-15 minutes on low flame.
  • STEP 8.As the clarified butter starts getting separated add 1 cup of sugar and mix it well.
  • STEP 9.Add 2 tsp ghee in the halwa and cover the pan with a lid.
  • STEP 10.Cook the halwa for 5 more minutes and add roasted dry fruits and elaichi powder to it.
  • STEP 11.Garnish and serve the halwa.
