Ingredients for Moong Dal Halwa Recipe

  • 500 milliliter Milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon Kesar
  • 1 cup moong dal
  • 0.33 cup Ghee
  • 1/2 cup cashews and almonds
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon elaichi powder

Directions: Moong Dal Halwa Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.Take out some milk in a glass and add kesar strands to it and keep it aside.

step 2

  • STEP 1.Now take moong dal and grind it using a grinder.

step 3

  • STEP 1.In a pan take 2 tsp ghee and roast your cashews and almonds for 3-4 minutes and keep them aside

step 4

  • STEP 1.In a pan take add ⅓ rd cup of ghee and add grinded moong dal in it.

step 5

  • STEP 1.Cook it for 15 minutes on medium flame until it turns golden brown.

step 6

  • STEP 1.Now add milk to the pan, prepared kesar milk and 1 cup of water.

step 7

  • STEP 1.Keep on stirring it so that no lumps are formed and cook it for 10-15 minutes on low flame.

  • STEP 1.As the clarified butter starts getting separated add 1 cup of sugar and mix it well.

step 9

  • STEP 1.Add 2 tsp ghee in the halwa and cover the pan with a lid.

step 10

  • STEP 1.Cook the halwa for 5 more minutes and add roasted dry fruits and elaichi powder to it.

step 11

  • STEP 1.Garnish and serve the halwa.
