Ingredients for Mooncake Biscuits Recipe

  • 300 gram Sugar
  • 315 gram Water
  • 1 Nos lemon
  • 70 gram golden syrup
  • 30 gram peanut oil
  • 8 gram lye water
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 120 gram cake flour
  • 1 Nos egg yolk

Steps To Prepare

  • STEP 1.Add sugar, water, lemon juice and lemon zest in a pot and prepare a syrup by cooking it for 10 mins at a high-medium flame.
  • STEP 2.After 10 mins, reduce the heat to low-medium flame and cook for 25 mins until it turns golden.
  • STEP 3.Check and stir the pot at intervals to avoid burning and keep it aside for cooling down.

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Now mix golden syrup, oil, water, salt and make a dough. Keep the dough to rest for an hour.
  • STEP 2.Now divide the dough in 35 gm each or 25gm each in case of 10 gm filling (optional).
  • STEP 3.Now to give it the shape of a biscuit, first dust the mould with flour to avoid sticking.
  • STEP 4.Now place each dough one by one into the mould and knock it out into a piece of cloth.
  • STEP 5.Now bake them at 170 degrees celsius for 8 mins. Meanwhile, in a bowl, add egg yolk, salt, water and beat it.
  • STEP 6.Now take the cookies out and let them cool down before storing them in an airtight container.
