Mont Lat Saung (Molaesa) is a sweet delicious Burmese recipe. This recipe is widely available in most countries using different names. It is a traditional Burmese drink made from sugar or palm sugar syrup and coconut milk mixed with small lumps of rice jelly.

Ingredients for Mont Le Saung Recipe

  • 60 gram 2 tbsp Rice Flour
  • 200 gram Jaggery
  • 2 cup Coconut milk
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • As required Water

  • STEP 1.In a bowl, add 60gms of rice flour, a pinch of salt mix it well, the.
  • STEP 2.Start adding water little by little to knead into a soft dough.
  • STEP 1.Start taking a very small amount from the dough and making a small and tiny drop out of it.
  • STEP 3.In a saucepan add a good amount of water and let the water come to a boil.
  • STEP 4.Then add the small rice dough drops.
  • STEP 5.Wait and let them cook for 8-10mins and then take them out in a bowl with the help of a sieve.
  • STEP 6.Now again take a saucepan adding 500ml water, then add 200gm jaggery.
  • STEP 7.Let the jaggery melt and dissolve with the water(it will take you 5mins).
  • STEP 8.Now in a small bowl take 2tbsp rice flour and water to make a slurry.
  • STEP 9.Now again take a saucepan adding 500ml water, then add the slurry we just made. Let it cook for 5-7mins.
  • STEP 10.Serving- in a glass start by adding the rice drops(2tbsp) followed by the rice slurry water(2 ladles), jaggery juice (2 ladles), and lastly fill the glass with coconut milk.
  • STEP 11.Top it with shredded coconut and it’s ready to serve.
