A tasty stir fry of chicken flavoured with ginger garlic and green chilli and tossed in a hoisin, oyster and soy sauce. This Mongolian chicken is crispy slices of chicken breast stir fried in a sweet and savory sauce. A restaurant favorite that tastes even better when you make it at home!

Ingredients for Mongolian Chicken Stir Fry Recipe

  • 300 gram Chicken breasts, cut into thin strips
  • 3 Garlic finely chopped cloves
  • 5 gram Ginger finely chopped
  • 1 No.s Spring onions cut into inch pieces 5
  • 1 No.s Green chilli pepper, deseeded and cut into thin shreds
  • 1/2 teaspoon Rice Wine
  • 1/2 teaspoon Light soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Oyster Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Hoisin Sauce
  • 2 tablespoon Dark soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoon Brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon Cornflour
  • 1 Egg white
  • 2 tablespoon Chicken Stock
  • 1 pinch Coarse Black Pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Oil

Directions: Mongolian Chicken Stir Fry Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.1 in a mixing bowl add 300 gm chicken breast cut into thin strips

step 2

  • STEP 2.2 add ½ tsp rice wine and ½ tsp light soy sauce, 1 tbsp brown sugar, 1 egg white, 1 tsp cornflour and mix well together to ensure that all the pieces of chicken are well coated.

  • STEP 3.3 keep aside to marinate for 30 minutes.

  • STEP 4.4 in a bowl add 1 tbsp oyster sauce ,1 tbsp hoisin sauce, 2 tbsp dark soy sauce, 1 tbsp brown sugar, coarse black pepper as desired, 3 tbsp chicken stock and1 tsp sesame oil. Mix well together.

  • STEP 5.5 in a wok heat 1 tbsp oil on high heat and add the marinated chicken.

  • STEP 6.6 stir fry for 4 minutes and stir well to prevent the pieces from sticking to each other.

step 7

  • STEP 7.7 when the chicken has changed colour and become light golden brown add 3 finely chopped cloves of garlic, 5 cm ginger finely chopped and the white part of 5 spring onions cut into 1 inch pieces. Stir fry for 1 minute.

step 8

  • STEP 8.8 then add 1 green chilli pepper deseeded and cut into thin shreds and stir fry for another 30 seconds.

step 9

  • STEP 1.to this add the prepared sauce mixture and stir fry for a minute. Ensure that the chicken is well coated with the sauce. Sautee them well and transfer it to a serving dish.
