This is my signature dish and one of my favourite dishes to cook. The low and slow method of roasting the shoulder until tender while making your whole house smell amazing is exhilarating. The beans are pretty darn good too

  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Ancho chili powder

  • 1/2 can Small kidney beans
  • 1/2 can Large chickpeas
  • 0.13 cup Balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 can Large organic tomatoes

  • 350 gram 600 pork shoulder blade or pork butt roast
  • 1/2 Onion
  • 2 tablespoon 3 molasses
  • 1-1.50 teaspoon Whole cumin seeds
  • 0.13-1/4 teaspoon Red pepper flakes
  • 1.50 tablespoon Chopped ginger
  • 1 teaspoon 1 flaked or coarse sea salt
  • 1/2 Bottle of phillips rootbeer
