  • 0.08 Cup toor dal
  • 0.08 Cup chana dal
  • 0.08 Cup moong dal
  • 0.08 Cup urad dal
  • 0.08 Tsp turmeric powder
  • 0.33 Tbsp ghee
  • 0.33 Tsp Cumin seeds
  • 0.33 Pieces tej patta(bay leaf)
  • 0.33 Pieces dry red chilli broken
  • 0.33 g reen chilli
  • 0.33 Tbsp ginger paste
  • 0.17 Tsp cumin powder
  • 0.17 Tsp coriander powder
  • 0.17 Tsp sugar
  • 0.08 Tsp garam masala powder
  • To Taste Salt

Directions: Mix Veg Thick Dal Recipe

  • STEP 1.First, boil the dal in pressure cooker (make sure that the dal has been cooked well).
  • STEP 2.Then, in a kadai, heat 1 tbsp of ghee and saute 1 tsp of cumin, 2 pods of cardamon, 1 tej patta and 1 dried red chilli.
  • STEP 3.Also add 1 tsp ginger paste and a pinch of hung. Then, saute well.
  • STEP 4.Now add 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder, 1 tsp of salt, 1/2 tsp of cumin powder, 1/2 tsp of coriander powder and 1/2 tsp of mirch powder with some water, and mix well.
  • STEP 5.For few minutes saute it till all the masala and then, add the boiled dal. Also, add 1 cup of water.
  • STEP 6.Cover it and let it be cooked for 5 minutes till the dal absorbs all the flavour.
  • STEP 7.Now add garam masala and 1/2 tsp of sugar, and mix well.
  • STEP 8.Finally, serve the Veg Mix Dal with rice..
