  • STEP 2.Missi Roti is a popular North Indian bread, which is often served with spicy curries and curd. Here’s a simple recipe to prepare this easy and quick roti. To prepare this unique Indian bread recipe, take a saucepan and heat 1 cup of water in it. When it's done, remove it from the flame. Add the moong dal in hot water and cover the pan with a lid. Keep aside for 20 minutes. Drain and reserve the water.
  • STEP 3.Step 2 / 4 Mix The Flour With Other Ingredients
  • STEP 4.Now, take a large bowl and combine wheat flour with salt, turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon oil, red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala powder and soaked moong dal. To accentuate the taste of the roti add 1 teaspoon ghee, this will make the Missi Roti more rich and flavoursome.
  • STEP 5.Step 3 / 4 Cook The Roti
  • STEP 6.Add the reserved water and mix well to form a dough. When the dough is prepared, make small balls and roll them into medium size rotis/chapatis. Heat a tawa over medium flame and cook the prepared rotis on both sides with a little oil.
  • STEP 7.Step 4 / 4 Add Butter And Enjoy
  • STEP 8.Garnish with a dollop of white butter and serve the freshly prepared Missi Roti with your choice of curry, curd and pickle. Enjoy this flavoursome Roti with your loved ones.
